Yondala is a collection of yOni images, shared to help us on the sacred journey of re-connecting with and re-membering ourselves. When used with intention, Yondalas are a medium with which to communicate, with the Sacred Feminine, with ourselves, and with one another. So re-connected we can begin to remember what the yOni knows.

The yOni is a sacred space, perhaps the most sacred of all spaces. Her secrets whisper through our bodies as we lie in bed at night, begging us to remember who, and what, we are. The yOni is a doorway between the outside world, and the juicy and private interior world of a woman. Shrouded and mysterious, she sits below us, unseen and for many, unheard. She is our most intimate connection to ourselves, drawing a line between the world and our hearts.

This book is an invitation: to use the Yondalas as an aid on the journey of re-connecting, both with ourselves and the world/s around us. When used with intention, Yondalas are a medium through which to communicate. We already understand, so much. Allow the journey of colouring the Yondala to be a reminder, to listen again to your soul, if it pleases you to do so. 

The yOni is our second mouth, speaking in a coded language of colour, scent and sensation. When we have forgotten to love ourselves, our yOnis hold our memories precious, protected for a time when we are ready again to hear. There is no lying to her. Like our ancient mothers, the yOni knows us, knows who we are and where we have been. She knows where we are going.

The Yondala colouring meditation can bring us in alignment with our deep feminine essence, our being. We begin to move in new ways. Although we may look the same as we travel inside a world blinded by fear and suffering, we will in fact be completely different. Connected to ourselves and the multiple galaxies we hold, we will draw our lives completely differently, doubting ourselves no longer. We will relax and re-body and from this place we will live as we have yearned for millennia, in harmony with ourselves, in Love with ourselves, our sisters and brothers, and Earth. We will visit the Gates of Paradise for a moment, and then, again.

By re-drawing the yOni we are re-appropriating Feminine Culture, taking back what was taken from us many thousands of years ago. As we re-draw this part of our lives, of our worlds, we can focus our attention on what it means to embody this energy and allow Her to re-invigorate us with her Power.

As our hands move across the yOndala page giving colour and life to the Symbol of Life, we reclaim our Power as the keepers at the gates of Truth, Beauty and Love. In this drawing, we vow never again to give ourselves away, never again collaborate in the stealing of our own Holy Feminine Power. We give colour to our promise to ourselves and our sisters, strengthening the lines inside us to out and the lines of our generational legacies. As we allow our hands to choose the colours they need, our intuition rehearses for choosing the right paths for ourselves. We express ourselves, refusing to be repressed any longer. We do what we do best, renew life and generate something where there was once nothing.

Feeling the throb of our yOnis is the beginning of a wakening. We awaken to the spark of life within us that has been dimmed and dulled. We use colour to speak our feelings, our deep deep sadness, our anger and rage. We imbue our Yondalas with that which we have been afraid to speak.
